Happy Democracy Day, fellow Nigerians, and especially to the people of Ondo State. Today, as we celebrate our progress as a nation, I, John Akinmurele, want to emphasize the importance of democracy, the rule of law, and justice. For democracy to thrive, it is crucial that its benefits reach every citizen, regardless of their location or background.
Democracy is more than just a system of governance; it is a promise to the people. As a figure who strongly believes in this promise, I call upon the political elite to prioritize the needs and aspirations of the people. The dividends of democracy must not remain abstract concepts but must become tangible realities experienced by every Nigerian.
Let us hold our leaders accountable and demand transparency, accountability, and the effective utilization of resources. Together, we can create an inclusive society where no one is left behind, and where the voices of the people are heard and respected. On this Democracy Day, let us unite in our pursuit of a better future and work towards a stronger, more prosperous, and equitable Nigeria for all, including the resilient people of Ondo State.
